2008-12-01 [Yuriona]: I think the myth has something more to do with the oyster's high nutrient level increasing fertility or something like that though I could see how that sort of imagery would be suggestive. =3
2008-12-01 [Jeccabee]: that's kinda gross...but I can see how that could work.
But I have to agree with Yuri...I think it's a chemical thing...maybe along with a mental thing.
2008-12-01 [moira hawthorne]: the 'chemical' or 'nutrient' or any physical component has never been proven to be an aphrodisiac tho... just like in so many of the so called aphrodisiac
the fact that it is believed to be an aphrodisiac seem to hold firmer sway!
2008-12-01 [Yuriona]: That is how it usually works with most legends and myths. The more it is believed in, the more people believe it if that makes any sense. :)
2008-12-01 [Jeccabee]: I've noticed that trend too.
if it makes any sence at all then more and more people will believe in it. And the more people believe in it, the more "real" it becomes. Whether it's fact or not becomes irrelavent. Kinda like religion. And not that's not a segway into a religious conversation.
2008-12-01 [moira hawthorne]: The truth of a proposition has nothing to do with its credibility. And vice versa.

2008-12-02 [jaraden]: i've heard all the stories about oisters, and i've always wanted to try them simply out of suriousity.
i've tried pretty much everything odd and exotic, so oisters are right up there in my book on the things that i want to try..

2008-12-03 [Yuriona]: My uncle makes chocolate covered ants. They're not bad at all. ^__^
2008-12-03 [Jeccabee]: I've heard they're not all that bad...the chocolate covered ants.
I used to have a fly in a sucker. It was more for the novelty of it. I never ate it. LOL
And I had a bee fly into my eye once. I was on a swing and the bee flew right at me. I freaked out and couldnt see for an hour!
2008-12-03 [moira hawthorne]: MAN THAT MUST HAVE HURT...
2008-12-03 [Jeccabee]: oh yeah. I dont remember it too much...just the experience. I was pretty young.
2008-12-05 [jaraden]: i've had chocolate covered ants before, they were pretty good, and i've eaten locust before too.. but that's it as far as my bug experiences go. heck i wouldn't mind scarfing down a huge spider too, dead ofcourse, i wouldn't want it squirming around in my gob...
but there you have it..
